10 Best Back-to-School Apps


There's so much to do before heading back to school. Besides all the packing you've got to do, you want to be able to spend time with friends and family who you may not be able to see during the year. Thankfully, our phone comes to the rescue yet again. Check out the best apps to help you through the school year or your daily routine.
Wunderlist  (For iPhone/iPad/Android/Windows/Mac)
This free app is great for simple to-do lists and daily organizing.  Some of the features include sharing lists, jotting down notes, and reminders. It gives the user the option to organize lists into folders and comes with some options to integrate with other apps.
Trello (For Android/iPhone/iPad/Windows Tablet/Web Browser)
This is another great organization app with its main focus on collaborative efforts. Keep your group on track, get updates on what each member of the group has accomplished, and keep them up to speed on new ideas or materials you might need. Its column design is easy to use, adapts to the users needs, and it’s free!
WolframAlpha  (For iPhone/Android/Web/Nook/Kindlefire)
This self-proclaimed “supercomputer” can answer your questions on science and math related topics such as chemistry, physics, conversions, and much more. Just input your questions and the app is able to answer almost any question within these topics.
Grades 2  (For  iOS/ Android)
This free app allows you to input grades and percentage values for each class so you know where your grade stands. Instead of waiting for you teacher or school to calculate your grade, you can calculate it at the touch of a button. It also allows you to keep track of due dates, your GPA, and all course grades. 
myHomework (For iOS/Android/Windows/Mac)
This app is great for organizing all things related to homework. It can also work greatly with the Grades 2 app from above. myHomework helps you keep track of homework, projects, and even your schedule. Another great thing about this app is that it syncs with about any other device you could have.
Google Drive/Docs  (For all devices)
Google has always led the way in innovative tools to make life easier. Google drive and docs is free and gives you access to cloud storage and automatically saves your files. Google docs is extremely helpful for working on group papers, projects, and presentations since you can all work remotely and simultaneously.
Kindle  (For all devices)
E-books are a cheap and space-efficient way to keep textbooks and novels close. The Kindle allows you to highlight passages, bookmark, take notes, and grow your own library. The app is free and gives you easy access to your books on any platform.
StudyBlue  (For iPod/iPad/iPhone/Android)
This app specializes in making easy, online flashcards for studying. Create your flashcards by tapping, snapping, or speaking. Furthermore, it can keep all your study materials in one place and lets you make study guides and quizzes. 
Evernote  (For all devices)
This app is great for more than just organizing notes, it’s great for capturing anything you want. Evernote allows you to save audio files, save webpages, pictures, ideas, notes, and anything else you wish to remember. Searching is also easy when you can do it by tags or printed text within images. Finally, Evernote syncs with other devices to keep you on track and save what you like in seconds.
Word Lens  (For iOS/Android)
This innovative app is great for translating and learning new languages. It allows you to translate printed words into another language through your smartphone’s video camera. What’s even better is you don’t even need an Internet connection and the results come in real time!
