How to Choose the Perfect Pair of Sunglasses for Your Face Shape

The sun is out and the sky is blue! We are finally ready to whip out our favorite summer fashion accessory -- sunglasses. Whether out and about sans-makeup or just shading yourself from the sun's harmful UV rays it's impossible not to look important and chic when wearing a pair of sunnies. What is impossible? Finding the right size and style for our face shape! We went ahead and did the hard work for you. Consider this as your go-to guide for choosing the best sunglasses for your face this summer.
If you have an OVAL face:
Oval faces are characterized by long and narrow features. Your equal and well-balanced proportions only mean one thing -- you can wear any style of shades and still look fab! Our only suggestion is to avoid frames that come across as being too large or too small for your face. Remember, it's all about the balance and you don't want to over (or under) do it. Looking for inspiration? Some famous oval faces are: Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Kate Middleton.

If you have a HEART shaped face:
If you are the proud owner of a wide forehead, high cheekbones, and a narrow jaw and are constantly being confused with Reese Witherspoon, you have a heart shaped face. That's right, America's sweetheart and you have something in common. Depending on what feature you'd like to emphasize, you could take your sunny style two ways. Cat-eyed sunglasses will emphasize your jaw line and highlight your cheekbones, but if you want something more symmetrical, choose a pair of aviators that are wider on the bottom to balance your face out. Looking for inspiration? Some famous heart-shaped faces are: Nicole Ritchie, the Olsen twins, and Ashley Greene.

If you have a ROUND face:
The tell-tale signs of a round face are full cheekbones, and a narrow forehead and jaw line. We recommend staying away from circular or rounded frames which will only exaggerate the fullness of your face. Instead, reach for a pair of angular sunglasses. The sharp edges of geometric frames will offset and counteract the sweet, rounded look of your face. Looking for inspiration? Some famous round faces are: Michelle Williams, Queen Latifah, and Kirsten Dunst.

If you have a SQUARE face:
A strong jawline and broad forehead are features that give a sense of regality and purpose to those who have square shaped faces. This stunning look can be optimized with a pair of rounded sunnies. Just like round faces look best with angular frames, angular faces look best with rounded frames. The softer edges will tone down stronger features. Don't be afraid to try cat-eyed sunglasses as well, which draw the eye up, bringing a softness to the jaw line as well. Looking for inspiration? Some famous square faces are: Olivia Palermo, Salma Hayek, and Kristen Wiig.
