GREEK INSPIRED HEADBAND ‘DO

Summer heat usually means pulling hair back into a ponytail. After all, it’s an easy way to stay cool and fight the inevitable frizz. But no longer. In our new Hair How-To series, we show you cute, wearable hairstyles that beat the heat in a sophisticated way.
Today, we're showing you how to create a cute Grecian updo with an elastic headband. It’s great for everything from an outdoor concert to a casual summer wedding. Here's how to do it.
Step 1: Start with hair that has some texture—second-day hair works great. Or, let hair air-dry to create some waves.
Step 2: Lightly place an elastic headband across your forehead and create some volume at the crown. For a chic but casual look, we used a braided leather headband from Remington.
Step 3: Begin by tucking the ends of your hair into the elastic band. If you have longer hair, grab a one inch piece at mid-length to create a loop and tuck into band. As you wind your way around, weave the ends into the headband. (Shoulder length hair neatly tucks into the headband without leaving any tails.)
Step 4: Continue looping and tucking hair into the headband until you reach the back of the band.
Step 5: If you have longer hair, you’ll likely end up with a few sections that need to be woven through the headband at the nape of your neck. Loop the ends into the headband two or three times. Secure the band and any loose loops with bobby pins.
Step 6: Mist your 'do with hairspray. L’Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hold Hairspray with UV Filter is lightweight but strong, so your hair will stay in place without looking crunchy.
